Pricing transparency template
Say a number. Win the comparison.
This pricing transparency template shows you how to publish "from" prices on your own website: a price block for each service page, a simple pricing page and matching schema. Each one says what the price includes, what changes it, how long the work takes and how to get a fixed price. "Contact us for a quote" gives buyers, Google and AI assistants nothing to compare.
A clear "from" price does.

Prices last updated: [month and year]How do you write a "from" price you can stand behind?
Base it on the smallest real job you'd happily take on, and say exactly what that job includes.
- 1
Find your smallest real job
Look at recent quotes. The "from" price is what a genuine, small version of the service costs, not a loss-leader.
- 2
Say what's included
Three to five concrete items. Buyers compare what they get as much as the price.
- 3
Name what changes the price
Size, materials, extra pages, urgency. Two or three factors are enough.
- 4
Add turnaround
How long the work usually takes from go-ahead. It's often as decisive as price.
- 5
Say how to get a fixed price
A short call, a visit or a form, and how quickly you reply.
- 6
Keep it the same everywhere
The same price on the service page, the pricing page, your listings and your schema. Update all of them together.
How do you add your price to schema?
Add an Offer to each service's Service markup, with the price as a number and GBP as the currency. It must match the price on the page.
<script type="application/ld+json">
{
"@context": "https://schema.org",
"@type": "Service",
"name": "[Service name]",
"provider": {
"@id": "https://www.example.co.uk/#business"
},
"offers": {
"@type": "Offer",
"priceCurrency": "GBP",
"price": "[from price, numbers only]",
"description": "From price, excluding VAT. [What it includes.]"
}
}
</script>Which pricing mistakes put buyers off?
Most of these leave buyers, and the assistants comparing you, with nothing concrete to go on.
- "Contact us for a quote" and nothing else.Buyers who want a ballpark go to a competitor who gives one.
- A price with no scope."From" without what it includes looks like a trap.
- Different prices in different places.If your site, listings and schema disagree, none of them look reliable.
- Prices hidden in a PDF or image.Put them in the page text, where people and search engines can read them.
- Out-of-date prices.Add a "last updated" date and review it every few months.
How does Foundry show its own prices?
Websites start from £499 + VAT, and that price sits on our web design pages, our pricing page, our llms.txt and our schema, worded the same way each time. For other services we say exactly how we price: a fixed price in writing after a short call.
We help clients do the same as part of our AI SEO work, because assistants compare businesses on plain facts like price and turnaround.

Pricing transparency template FAQs
They probably know them already. Buyers don't, and a clear starting price gets you onto their shortlist.
Give a "from" price for the smallest real job and list what changes it. That still tells buyers whether you're in their range.
Say clearly either way. Business buyers usually expect prices excluding VAT; consumers usually expect them including it.
Assistants compare businesses on facts they can read, and price is one of the first. A "from" price gives them something to compare. It's one part of the work, not a guarantee.
Near the top, in the page text, with what's included and how to get a fixed price right beside it.
